CHAIRMAN OF ALAMGaC RECEIVED WORLD BANK REPRESENTATIVE
Mr.Enkhmanlai Anand, Chairman of the Agency for Land Agency and Administration, management, geodesy, and Cartography had a meeting with Mrs. Kathrine M.Kelm, Senior Land Administration Specialist from the Global Land and Geospatial Unit of the World Bank. During this meeting, he expressed his sincere appreciation to the World Bank and its representatives for their support and contributions.
In particular, Mr.Enkhmanlai highlighted the World Bank’s significant and valuable role in advancing Spatial Data Infrastructure in Mongolia. He mentioned that in 2022, Mongolia successfully developed and approved the “Action Plan for the Establishment of National Spatial Data Infrastructure”, which consisted of 28 total measures. Of these measures, three had already been fully implemented.
Furthermore, Mr.Enkhmanlai emphasized the need to strengthen the legal framework in the sector to further support the enhancement of Spatial Data Infrastructure in Mongolia.
Mrs. Kathrine M.Kelm expressed her appreciation for Mongolia’s proactive approach and efforts in the development of its Spatial Data Infrastructure. She specifically commended Mongolia for its commitment to submitting the draft law on Spatial Data Infrastructure during the 2023 regular Autumn session of the State Great Khural /Parliament/ of Mongolia.
Furthermore, Mrs.Kelm highlighted that Mongolia’s proactive stance in developing an “Action Plan for the Establishment of National Spatial Data Infrastructure “sets the country apart as a leader in this field. She recognized Mongolia’s active participation in forums, conferences, and sessions of international organizations such as UN-GGI, and UN-GGIM-AP for contributing to the global and national geospatial data infrastructure.
Mrs. Kathrine M.Kelm committed that in the future, The World Bank will continuously give technical support in the spatial data infrastructure sector, and train the staff of Mongolia to strengthen the geospatial infrastructure of the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr.Enkhmanlai expressed the commitment of ALAMGaC in collaboration with the Land Administration Agency of Capital and Districts to provide technical and methodological assistance for land management work in the Emeelt Eco-Industrial Park. He mentioned the involvement of ALAMGaC in the relocation of leather, wool, and cashmere factories which is part of the Urban Competitiveness and Regeneration support project by the World Bank.
